As a multidisciplinary artist Megan Casey uses performance, sculpture and film, to create an immersive experience for the audience to bring them to a calm state of mind. She is fascinated by jellyfish and the hypnotic and harmonious nature they exude. Within her performances she embodies the jellyfish state using instinctive thoughts and movements. Her work explores jellyfish as an object to create space and purpose, referencing Flow Theory and speculative realism, through which she believes that jellyfish practice, living in an ideal state of being, allowing the audience to adopt an intrinsic state of ‘flow’.
